The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words
Rei- which means "God's Wisdom or Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy".
During a Reiki session specific hand positions are used to direct this energy to the places in the body where it is needed and can be done hands on or off the body depending on one's comfort level. Reiki can be given sitting or laying down and your reasons for receiving a treatment can vary.​
